A new study looking into metal detecting near water can be hazardous, it also revealed that a pontoon height greater than 12 inches above any water line makes it extremely difficult for individuals to lift themselves out of the water without the aid of a Marina Safety Ladder. Add the effect of cold temperatures and wet clothing and it becomes very difficult or almost impossible.
